I love this post so much! I think every parent who has been through the baby and toddler experience can relate to the combination of newfound confidence, lingering self-doubt, and practical circumstantial challenges that you've described here. So much solidarity for that library experience in particular. I'm glad I'm not the only parent of multiples who hasn't almost lost a toddler while attending to the needs of a needy baby 😅

i also find that, while I used to be maybe a bit intolerant toward out of control kids in store, now I’m there to help! it takes a village, even in Target!

My current self would be so salty with my past self if it ever caught my past self giving my kids and me a dirty look on a plane.... which, let's face it, would probably happen.

I'm so absolutely behind on my subscriptions but this post is 🔥🔥🔥 the thrill and terror and chaos of takin two small, mobile children in public cannot be understated. Especially that toddler age, with or without a sibling. I took my youngest (almost 2) to Aldi with me while my 5 year old was in jiujitsu class with my husband. She was an angel and helped me check out and sort items in bags. Then we went to Target and the holy terror 2 year old emerged, complete with running away and having jellyfish tantrums (IYKYK). What is it about Target?! Is it because it's so aggressively red?

haha - I think Target gets all of us going, as adults we deal with it by overbuying crap but it must be a perfectly curated insane stimulation machine for our little kids!!

i love this so much. i too have a three year old and a 10 month old baby and every day is terrifying. it’s just constant - giving my 3 year old as much attention as he needs (endless amounts) and chasing the baby around as he tries to injure himself. the laying to crawling to cruising along furniture has been so rough, and i’m so scared of taking them out together. i alway felt so silly and i see mothers all the time

doing it, and feel inferior. i’m so glad im not alone.

I have no idea how anyone does it and I personally only have one child and basically have a panic attack taking him to Target. The entire trip is just me barking panicking orders. Shopping... so relaxing.... happy new year my friend, xOphira
